Nicholas S. Peppers received his Bachelor of Arts from Carleton College, Northfield, Minnesota, in 1982. He is a 1985 graduate of the DePaul University College of Law and was admitted to practice law in the State of Illinois in 1985. He is a member of the Illinois State Bar Association. 


Mr. Peppers, who is currently a partner, has been with the firm since its inception and is primarily engaged in the fields of general municipal and local government, as well as commercial real estate transactions and land use and development. He is currently the City Attorney for the City of St. Charles, Illinois, and the Village Attorney for the Village of Forest Park, Illinois.


Mr. Peppers is currently handling and has successfully completed a broad variety of complex commercial real estate transactions.  He has extensively represented numerous private developers in the acquisition, annexation, zoning and redevelopment of mixed-use, office and industrial developments. He also has extensive experience in the negotiation and implementation of redevelopment agreements utilizing tax increment financing. 


Mr. Peppers participates either as special or general counsel in advising and representing the balance of the firm’s municipal clients, including the Villages of Elmwood Park and Rosemont and the City of Elmhurst in matters of local government land use and planning, acquisition, annexation, subdivisions, zoning and the establishment and implementation of tax increment financing districts.


Mr. Peppers serves as outside independent counsel as a member of the Real Estate Review Committee of the Office of the Illinois Secretary of State to review leases for its driver’s license and police facilities.
