Joseph G. Kusper, currently "Of Counsel" to the firm, is a 1976 graduate of the University of Notre Dame with a major in accounting. He graduated from Northern Illinois University College of Law in 1979 and received his L.L.M. (Masters of Law in Taxation) in 1986 from the John Marshall Law School.  He was admitted to the practice of law in Illinois in 1979. In 1983, he received his license as an Illinois Certified Public Accountant. He is principally engaged in the fields of corporate law, finance and taxation.


Before becoming of counsel to the firm, Mr. Kusper worked at Coopers and Lybrand, an international public accounting firm, as a Tax Supervisor. His experience there covered a wide range of tax representation issues including review and preparation of corporate, individual, estate, trust and exempt organization tax returns, client representation before the Internal Revenue Service, reorganizations, recapitalizations, tax shelter projections and state and local taxation.


Mr. Kusper also worked at the Cook County Board of Tax Appeals as an Investigator. His experience included the review of Real Estate Tax Complaints and the examination and review of tax exempt properties.


He acted as bond counsel for many industrial revenue bond issues including the following municipalities: the City of St. Charles, the Village of Capron, the City of Warrenville, County of Lake, the Village of South Holland and the City of Chicago.


Since his admission to the bar, he worked in a variety of practice areas and specialized in the areas of corporate law, finance and taxation. His experience in taxation includes all aspects of federal and state taxation, with an emphasis on real property taxation.
